Ahmed E Salim – Founder and Director:
Ahmed Salim is a highly qualified and experienced professional in migration and aviation psychology. He is a firm believer in universal human rights and improving quality of life for all in a settled environment. His education and work in aviation and migration NGOs has been dedicated to purveying the cause of human rights and peaceful cooperation between nations to achieve a common good.
He holds a number of graduate and post-graduate qualifications in various subjects earned in the UK and Sudan including Psychology, Anatomy & Physiology, Translation, Refugee Studies (Psych), Psycho-social Studies on Migration, Systemic Psychotherapy, International Mental Health Research Methods, Aviation Psychology and Research & Development.
Professional Memberships:
- Fellow Member of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), UK
- FM and Registered Aviation Psychologist and Human Factors Specialist at the European Association for Aviation Psychology (EAAP)

Work experience:
- Currently a Managing Director of the EAC which includes Air Safety Watch since 2013.
- Managing Director of Air Safety Watch (2000 – 2012)
- Freelance consultant and trainer in socio-technical systems and NGOs. He has delivered several training courses and has participated in dozens of conferences and workshops on migration and aviation safety in Africa and Europe.
- Frequently interviewed by newspapers, radio, and satellite TV channels such as Sky News, Aljazeera, Alarabiya etc regarding aviation and migration issues.
- He has been working for over twenty years supporting refugees alongside various British NGOs such as the British Refugee Council, Refugee Arrivals Project, Homeless Action in Barnet and Salisbury World Project (Refugee Children Project). In addition, he has cooperated with the UNHCR in the repatriation of Ethiopian refugees from the East of Sudan.
- He has nine years of work as a Cabin Crew member for Sudan Airways.
Furthermore, he has designed / developed the following:
- Model for Fighting Human Trafficking and Smuggling for the European and African Centre (EAC).
- Model of competency frameworks for effective organisational management.
- Co-author of Good Practice Procedures for Working with Distressed Clients, British Refugee Council.
- Psycho-social Disaster Intervention Programme (PDIP)
- Fear of Flying Intervention and Treatment (FIT)
- Co-author of a unique Therapeutic Casework Model for working with refugees and asylum seekers, British Refugee Council.
- Has designed more than twenty training courses on migration and aviation.
Edward Maw – Director:
Edward has always worked in support of Human Rights, Gender Equality and Social Justice; He has 20 years of experience of working directly with refugees and asylum seekers and in refugee supporting organisations in UK, in roles including communications, quality assurance, management of language and refugee services.
Edward Maw holds qualifications at graduate and postgraduate level in a variety of disciplines gained in UK and Egypt, including management, languages and communications.
He is an experienced trainer and training developer, specialising in issues such as equalities, intercultural communication, and delivery of services to migrants.
Currently Edward is engaged in working with NGOs and campaigners as a project manager for online communications development projects, as well as participating in several smaller “start up/grass roots” projects.
Advisory Council:
The Management Team would like thank the Advisory Councils for their support during their appointed term which has now completed according to EAC policy.
For transparency and the benefit of our clients we had appointed two Advisory Councils, one in the UK and the other in Sudan. They worked with our Managing Director and management team overseeing strategic policy, providing direction and offering support.
The Advisory Council in Sudan consists of known individuals with a wealth of experience, a variety of backgrounds and represents different areas and demographic groups of Sudan.
EAC is in the process of selection of new Advisory Councils.
